Uvita: frequently asked questions

How much does a home for sale in Uvita, Costa Rica cost?

We have two homes for sale in Uvita right now: a brand-new 2-bedroom, 2-bath house with a private pool and 2-car garage at $383,000, and a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath modern home with a pool and chef's kitchen, steps from the beach, at $650,000.

Can foreigners buy property in Uvita?

Yes. Foreigners can own titled property in Costa Rica with the same rights as citizens, and you don't need residency to buy. The exception is the maritime zone, the first 200 m from the high-tide line: it's concession land, not titled, and foreigners can only hold minority stakes in it. Every home we list is titled land.

Where is Uvita and how do you get there?

Uvita is on Costa Rica's South Pacific coast, in the Osa canton of Puntarenas. It's about 4 hours by road from San José airport (SJO), along the coastal highway (Route 34) through Jacó and Quepos.

What is Uvita known for?

Marino Ballena National Park and its "Whale's Tail" sandbar. Humpback whales visit twice a year, roughly July to October and December to April. Add waterfalls, jungle hills with ocean views, and home prices well below Guanacaste's.

Do you work as a real estate agent in Uvita?

Yes. Tell us your budget, how many bedrooms you need and whether you want the beach or the hills, and we'll send you the Uvita homes that fit.
